HC Increasing Recovery Efficiency in the Mature Fields. Methods & Technology for Cooperation
21 & 22 October 2019 – Bucharest, Romania
This Expert Workshop was organized by the Romanian National Committee and co-hosted by the Iranian National Committee. It will focus on ‘HC Increasing Recovery Efficiency in the Mature Fields. Methods & Technology for Cooperation’.
Key topics to be covered include:
How to evaluate the remaining resources in mature fields
Using up-to-date methods and technologies in mature fields to maximise production and reduce costs
Re-development of mature fields using probabilistic modeling approaches for secondary and tertiary recovery methods
CO2 Capture, Usage and Storage Projects
How to efficiently increase recovery factors taking the challenging profitability of mature fields into account
But its activities was started as OIEC’s engineering division since 1989, so EIED carries a legacy of near three decades of experience in Oil, Gas and Petrochemical (OGP) industries. EIED has earned the reputation of a highly qualified company in the Energy and OGP industries and is specialized in Engineering, Procurement and Construction Management (EPCM).
Iran Oil Industry Youth Committee in World Petroleum Council planned to run a local mentoring program for the first time, following the successful experience of the WPC in the last 4 cycles. Dr Sajjad Keshavarzian who already participated in the third cycle of mentoring program and had been recommended by Dr Tor Fjaeran (President of WPC) as one of the active mentees to participate in the 22nd WPC event in Turkey is coordinating this program based on his international experience. He got the PhD in Energy Engineering at Politecnico di Milano, Italy in 2017 and right now working as a researcher in a Research & Technology Department of one of the largest aromatic complex in the world (Nouri Petrochemical Company). Dr Erfan Afazeli who is participating in the current mentoring program of WPC as one of Iran’s representative, also collaborating with Dr Keshavarzian to run successfully this local program.
The objectives of this program are the same as the international mentoring program as follows:
Bridging the gap between senior experts and young people in the oil and gas sector from different cultures;
Sharing knowledge and experiences through open dialogue (interactive, formal and informal discussions);
Generating content and interactions for WPC events and publications;
Building a global networking platform for professional development and WPC promotion.
For the Mentees, the Program’s objectives include:
Help participants in identifying and achieving opportunities for career development;
Engage with senior industry leaders and develop global dialogue on the energy industry
Create opportunities to meet and partner with others with different job titles, descriptions or cultural boundaries;
Create a culture that sees mentorship as an effective way of developing individuals.
For this first cycle and due to the fact that the quality of the job is a matter of importance, we decided to go on with two mentoring group with three mentees each, under the supervision of two professional experts to discuss over the relevant and agreed upon topics.
